Adult guests are spread across full tables; the top table and kids' table are counted separately.

If the last table is nearly empty, spread those guests across the other tables or switch to larger tables.

Round tables of 8 to 10 people encourage conversation.
Check with your venue the maximum number of tables and the space needed for the dance floor.
Plan one or two spare seats for surprises.

How many people per table at a wedding?

Eight to ten people per round table is the most common format; beyond that, conversations split up.

Do we need a top table?

Not necessarily: many couples choose a table with their wedding party or a sweetheart table for two.
